ChoiceOne Bank is pleased to welcome William (Bill) Bruinsma, Vice President Commercial Loan Officer, Brandon Hayes, Vice President Commercial Loan Officer and Bonnie Potter, Mortgage Loan Officer.

William (Bill) Bruinsma, Vice President Commercial Loan Officer
William joins ChoiceOne with over 30 years in commercial banking. In his most recent position as Senior First Vice President, Middle Market Banking, Bruinsma was responsible for a large commercial loan portfolio while advising clients about Treasury Management, Capital Markets, Retirement Plans, Wealth Management and Private Banking. He is located at the Grand Rapids Metro Loan office, 2221 Health Drive, SW, Suite 1200, Grand Rapids.
Bruinsma has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting both from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Active in his community, Bruinsma serves on the Boards of Wedgewood Christian Services Foundation and the Kent County Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Bruinsma also has 24 years of coaching experience with adult and youth softball, baseball, AAU and high school basketball.
Brandon Hayes, Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer
Brandon joins ChoiceOne with seven years in the banking industry, including business banking, mortgages and most recently as a Commercial Loan Officer. Hayes will set up office in the newly established Loan Production office in Oakland County scheduled to open later this summer.
Hayes has a bachelor’s degree from Saginaw Valley State University, University Center. He is an active member in the Troy Chamber of Commerce and the Detroit ING Chapter. Hayes is also a multi-season volunteer coach for Clarkston Youth Sports and an active American Red Cross Blood donor.
Bonnie Potter, Mortgage Loan Officer
Bonnie joins ChoiceOne Bank with over 20 years as a mortgage loan officer for several regional banks in West Michigan. Potter will work out of ChoiceOne’s Grand Rapids office at 330 Market Avenue SW.
Potter has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Aquinas College and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Davenport University, both in Grand Rapids. With a commitment to her community and affordable housing, Potter has a vast history of serving. She is the Secretary and Treasurer for SECOM Resource Center, a volunteer as a tax preparer for five years with Vita Tax (IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program). Potter is also very involved with Habitat for Humanity, ICCF Community Homes, New Development Corporation, LINC UP and Dwelling Place of Grand Rapids.
