ChoiceOne Bank was extremely pleased to once again honor Lapeer High School seniors in the annual Swing Out celebration in Downtown Lapeer on June 3.
“It is such an honor to celebrate the Lapeer High School Class of 2021 this year,” said ChoiceOne President Michael J. Burke, Jr. “This has been a tough school year for all students, teachers and parents. To participate in Swing Out once again helps our community celebrate this class and all they have achieved during the COVID-19 pandemic. ChoiceOne Bank is big on tradition and Swing Out has always been a great way to celebrate our seniors.”
The Lapeer High School Class of 2021 graduated June 6. Swing Out traditionally takes place before their official graduation. The seniors this year were able to walk through downtown to the high school. Last year, they had to drive and socially distance.

ChoiceOne Bank, like many businesses downtown, decorated their storefronts to welcome and congratulate the seniors. The Bank also recently announced the winners of their annual ChoiceOne Bank Scholarship Essay Contest last week which included Amelia Chavez from Lapeer High School.
“As the local community bank, we are committed to the families in our communities across Michigan,” said Burke. “Our seniors are our next generation of community leaders and customers. We believe it’s important to honor and support them as they begin the next chapters in their lives whether its work, college or both. We are here for them, especially as we recover from this pandemic.”
