ChoiceOne Bank is pleased to announce a $1,000 holiday donation to community partner TrueNorth Community Services in Newaygo County.

During the Thanksgiving holiday shopping days like Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday, ChoiceOne wanted to remind customers to support local – including their local community bank by using their ChoiceOne Debit Card. In turn, ChoiceOne made a commitment to donate $1,000 to benefit students through TrueNorth Community Services.

“ChoiceOne has been an advocate for our communities for 120 years,” said ChoiceOne Bank President & CEO Kelly Potes.  “During the busiest shopping days of the year, our staff created a promotion that became a win-win for our community and ChoiceOne Bank. Our customers were reminded of the importance of supporting our community – both by supporting our nonprofits and our small businesses – including ChoiceOne Bank. TrueNorth is a great community partner so our staff chose them for out holiday donation.”

Over the years ChoiceOne Bank has volunteered and sponsored many of TrueNorth’s programs including Tools for Schools, golf outings to raise money for Camp Newaygo, Children’s Christmas Program, serving Senior Meals at Thanksgiving and Bowl for True Mentors.

As a source of clear and steadfast guidance, TrueNorth stands ready to help as people navigate the path to independence and strength. Since 1972, TrueNorth has been creating new and better ways to assist families and individuals in need, motivate self-sufficiency, promote community enrichment, and offer greater youth opportunities. The positive direction provided allows TrueNorth to make a lasting difference in the lives of those served, and in the communities they share.

“As the local community bank, we believe in paying attention to those in our community who might need extra help during the holidays,” said Potes. “As a result, our staff presented a holiday check to TrueNorth to help disadvantaged middle and high school students in Newaygo County have a merrier holiday. Our ChoiceOne teams are always ready to support the communities we serve. They constantly make me proud.”
