ChoiceOne Bank Announces Executive Promotion, New Leadership Positions

ChoiceOne Bank is pleased to announce the recent promotion of Vice President Trenton Hancock to Head of Retail Banking. ChoiceOne also welcomes Vice President and Commercial Loan Officer Bradley Bissett and Vice President and Controller Sarah Ferris, CPA.

Vice President Trenton Hancock is promoted to Head of Retail Banking

Hancock joined ChoiceOne in 2016 as Vice President Regional Manager with 22 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to ChoiceOne, Hancock was Vice President at Chase Bank, and moved up the ranks at Flagstar Bank from Area Manager to Vice President Regional Manager. He was also licensed in Securities, Life and Health as a registered representative with John Hancock Insurance.

A graduate of Michigan State University, Hancock holds a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Business Administration and an emphasis in Economics. He will graduate from the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin – Madison this summer. He recently attained his Second Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo. Hancock is a member of the Muskegon Rotary Club and a volunteer with the United Way, Habitat for Humanity, Kid’s Food Basket in Muskegon County and True North in Newaygo County. 

Bradley Bissett joins ChoiceOne as Vice President and Commercial Loan Officer

Bissett joins the Port Huron team to serve the surrounding communities with dependable and professional commercial banking practices and lending solutions. He has 15 years experience serving customers and the communities in which they live. He was most recently Chief Credit Officer at Tri-County Bank, located in Brown City, and served as Chief Lending Officer at We Florida Financial, located in Margate, Florida.

Bissett received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant. He also graduated from the Graduate School of Banking-University of Wisconsin-Madison. Bissett is a volunteer basketball coach for his sons second grade basketball team in Port Huron. He is a former Brown City Rotarian of 15 years and former Chairman of the Friends of MRH (Marlette Regional Hospital) Foundation committee.

Sarah Ferris, CPA, joins ChoiceOne as Vice President, Controller

With over five years experience in a fast-paced corporate environment and over six years prior public accounting experience. Her most recent position was Senior Manager, SEC Reporting, at Perrigo Company plc in Allegan. Prior to that she was a Senior Accountant at two local CPA firms for over six years. Ferris began her banking career at ChoiceOne in Retail and Commercial Credit from 2003 to 2008.

Ferris holds a Master of Science in Accounting and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting both from Grand Valley State University in Allendale. She was awarded her Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Certificate in January 2012.
