ChoiceOne Bank recently announced the promotions of Troy Butler III, Scott Jennings, John Mousel, CFP®, Carrie Olson and Lianna den Dulk.

Troy Butler III is named Grand Rapids Market Executive. Butler joined ChoiceOne Bank in 2016 as Vice President, Commercial Lender and Grand Rapids Sales Executive. With over 20 years of commercial banking experience in the Kalamazoo, Battle Creek, Lansing and Grand Rapids markets, Butler has specific expertise in commercial and industrial lending, commercial real estate and private banking. Prior to joining ChoiceOne, Butler was Vice President – Business Banker with First Community Bank in Grand Rapids. Butler is responsible for driving growth by creating loan, deposit, and brand awareness opportunities for ChoiceOne Bank in Grand Rapids while continuing his leadership role in the community and assisting the entire Grand Rapids team in meeting their individual goals. Holding an MBA from Western Michigan University, Butler received his Bachelor of Arts in Finance from Michigan State University. He is currently the Treasurer of Home Repair Services of Kent County.
Scott Jennings is named Vice President, Collections and Special Assets Department Manager. He joined ChoiceOne Bank in 2017 with over 20 years in banking with positions in branch management, retail banking, credit, commercial lending and special assets. Jennings’ role is to plan, direct and implement the Bank’s collection and loss mitigation activities across all lines of business providing leadership and knowledge to manage and resolve delinquent consumer or commercial loans. He graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Employee Relations and Psychology.
John Mousel, CFP® is named Vice President, Financial Advisor of ChoiceOne Investment Center. Mousel is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) Certificant. He joined ChoiceOne in January 2018 as Assistant Vice President of ChoiceOne Investment Center. Prior to joining ChoiceOne, he was the Office Manager and Registered Representative at his family-owned State Farm Insurance Agency in Fremont, where he analyzed legal documents including wills, trusts, financial statements and insurance policies. As a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), Mousel also owned a personal business practice in Rockford, where he coached over 500 clients and managed financial products for their accounts in the following products: employer sponsored retirement plans, personal financial plans, mutual funds, stocks, life insurance and annuities, long term care and disability insurance. Mousel sold his business practice in 2016. Mousel has a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Central Michigan University, Mt. Pleasant, and an MBA in Finance from Grand Valley State University, Grand Rapids. He also has his FINRA Brokerage Licenses: RIA, Series 7, 24, 26, 51, 63 & 65.
Carrie Olson is named Vice President – Client Development. She joined ChoiceOne Bank in 2012 as the Alpine Branch Manager and was appointed Assistant Vice President in 2015. With over 18 years of banking experience, Olson has a passion for small businesses and was part of the H2A committee that partnered with local farms to find banking solutions for their seasonal employees. In her new position, Olson will partner with current clients and perspective businesses to streamline their daily banking practices and uncover ways to help them realize and achieve their financial goals. Olson graduated from the Michigan Bankers Association Perry School of Banking. She is involved in Rotary, Junior Achievement and Habitat for Humanity.
Lianna den Dulk is named Human Resources Officer. She started her career with ChoiceOne Bank in 2013 as a Teller, while working through college. After completing an Accounting Internship with The Windquest Group in Grand Rapids, den Dulk returned to ChoiceOne in January 2015 as a Personal Banker in the Branch Manager Training Program. In July 2015, she joined the Human Resources Department as a Benefits & Training Administrator.
In 2017, den Dulk achieved the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Certified Professional certification. Her current responsibilities include recruitment, performance evaluation, training and development, benefit coordination, employee and labor relations, compliance, and employee engagement. Graduating in 2014 from Grand Valley State University, den Dulk has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance.
